This Privacy Policy explains how Use Doug (usedoug.com), operated by Mark Stewart Kenney (“we,” “us,” or “our”), collects, uses, discloses, and protects information about visitors to this website. By using this site you agree to the practices described here.
1. Information we collect
- Information you give us. Name, email address, telephone number, state of residence, age or date of birth if you provide it, current coverage details, and the content of any message or question you submit through our forms or by email.
- Consent and interaction records. When you submit a form, we record the date and time, the page URL, the text of the consent language displayed to you, your IP address, and your browser user agent. We retain this record to demonstrate that consent was given.
- Automatically collected information. IP address, device and browser type, operating system, referring URL, pages viewed, and time spent on pages, collected through server logs and analytics tools.
- Cookies and similar technologies. We and our service providers may use cookies, pixels, and similar technologies for site functionality, measurement, and advertising attribution.
We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18 years of age. We do not intentionally collect Social Security numbers, financial account numbers, or detailed medical records through this website. Please do not submit that information through our forms.
2. Health information
Use Doug is not a covered entity or a business associate under the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA), and information you submit through this website is generally not protected health information under HIPAA. If you voluntarily describe a health condition in a message, we treat it as confidential and use it only to respond to your request and to refer you to a licensed agent. Do not send detailed medical records through this site.
3. How we use information
- To respond to your question or request.
- To refer you to one or more licensed insurance agents or agencies who may contact you about health insurance products.
- To verify and document consent to be contacted, including for compliance with the Telephone Consumer Protection Act and related rules.
- To operate, secure, maintain, and improve the website.
- To detect and prevent fraud, abuse, and unauthorized activity.
- To comply with legal obligations and to establish, exercise, or defend legal claims.
4. How we share information
- Licensed agents and agencies. If you submit a request and consent to contact, we share the information you provided with one or more licensed insurance agents or agencies so they can respond. Once shared, those parties handle your information under their own privacy policies.
- Service providers. Hosting, email delivery, form processing, consent capture, analytics, and security vendors that process information on our behalf under contract.
- Legal and safety. When required by law, subpoena, court order, or regulatory request, or to protect rights, property, or safety.
- Business transfers. In connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets.
We do not sell personal information for monetary consideration. Sharing your information with a licensed agent so that the agent can contact you may nonetheless be considered a “sale” or a “share” for cross-context behavioral advertising under some state privacy laws. You may opt out at any time through our Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information page.
5. Your choices
- Email. Use the unsubscribe link in any marketing email, or email hello@usedoug.com.
- Text messages. Reply STOP to any text message to stop further texts from that sender.
- Calls. Ask any caller to add you to their internal do-not-call list, or email us with the number to remove.
- Cookies. Most browsers let you refuse or delete cookies. Some site features may not function correctly if you do.
- Global Privacy Control. Where required by law, we honor an opt-out preference signal such as GPC transmitted by your browser.
6. State privacy rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to know what personal information we collect and how it is used and disclosed, to access or obtain a copy of it, to request correction, to request deletion, to opt out of sale, sharing, or targeted advertising, to limit the use of sensitive personal information, and not to be discriminated against for exercising these rights. These rights are available to residents of California, Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia, Utah, Texas, Oregon, Montana, and other states with comprehensive privacy laws, subject to each law’s conditions and exceptions.
To exercise a right, email hello@usedoug.com with the subject line “Privacy Request” and tell us which right you are exercising. We will verify your identity using information you have already provided to us before acting on the request. An authorized agent may submit a request on your behalf with written proof of authorization. If we deny your request, you may appeal by replying to our response with the word “Appeal.”
7. Data retention and security
We retain personal information for as long as needed to fulfill the purposes described in this policy, to comply with legal, regulatory, and recordkeeping obligations including consent records, and to resolve disputes. We use commercially reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards including encryption in transit. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

This site links to third-party websites, including government resources and agent or carrier sites. We are not responsible for the content or privacy practices of those sites. Review their policies separately.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy. Changes take effect when posted, and the “Last updated” date above will change. Material changes will be highlighted on this page.
